The PNV municipal group in Oñati has called for a permanent presence of the Municipal Police, particularly on weekend nights, to ensure local security and promote closer collaboration with the Ertzaintza.

The PNV municipal group has highlighted the need to improve security in the town and, to this end, has requested that the Municipal Police service be available 24 hours a day. This request is particularly focused on weekend nights, arguing that security risks and needs increase during these times.

"It is essential to have a Municipal Police service 24 hours a day, especially on weekend nights, when security risks and needs increase. The lack of police presence during these hours causes concern among Oñati residents, who deserve to feel protected at all times."

Furthermore, the jeltzale group has emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration with the Ertzaintza, seeking agile coordination in critical situations. They reminded that Oñati is an active and dynamic municipality, making this cooperation essential to respond immediately to any emergency and guarantee the safety of all citizens.
In connection with the issue of security, the PNV has also proposed the creation of a Security Board in the Town Hall. This board would work together with the EH Bildu Municipal Government, with the aim of jointly addressing the expansion of police services, including weekend nights. The group has stressed that security must be a priority and that Oñati deserves a robust local police service, available when it is most needed.
