The Governing Council of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, in an extraordinary meeting held today, September 24, has agreed to appoint Lander Beloki as the new Rector of the university. This appointment will take effect from January 1, 2027.
The current Rector, Vicente Atxa, will conclude his tenure at the helm of Mondragon Unibertsitatea on December 31, 2026, upon completion of his third term after twelve years in the position.
His leadership has been credited with significantly strengthening Mondragon Unibertsitatea's societal impact, as well as the university's growth and internationalization. His personal qualities and ability to foster trusting relationships are particularly highlighted, leaving a profound mark on the university and its community.
The Governing Council has expressed its gratitude and recognition to Vicente Atxa for his commitment and extraordinary work, which leaves Mondragon Unibertsitatea in a strong position to face future challenges.
