The duo Johnny Bigstone & Sweet Marta will bring authentic traditional blues to Kajoi bar in Arrasate on April 12, as part of the Arrasate Blues festival organized by Ibai-Arte.

As part of the Arrasate Blues festival, organized by Ibai-Arte, the duo Johnny Bigstone & Sweet Marta will offer a very special musical performance on Friday, April 12, at 12:30 PM. Although initially scheduled for the Itzala terrace, the event will now take place inside Kajoi bar due to adverse weather forecasts.
This duo is considered one of the most authentic acoustic acts in the national blues scene, faithfully recreating the sounds of Old Blues and transporting the audience to the deepest roots of African-American music. It is not just any concert, but a direct journey to the origins of songs born on the plantations of the southern United States, where music served as a refuge, a form of protest, and raw emotion.
Their repertoire draws from styles such as Delta blues, Piedmont blues, and Old-Time Country, reviving pieces by fundamental artists like Jazz Gillum, Reverend Gary Davis, Blind Lemon Jefferson, and Blind Blake, among others. This legacy is complemented by their own compositions, which keep the essence of the genre alive.

During their career, they embarked on a journey across the United States, traveling the mythical Route 61, known as the 'blues highway'. There, they not only delved into the origins of this music but also shared the stage and experiences with figures like Paul Oscher, Greg Izor, John Primer, and the legendary James 'Duck' Holmes. This experience is undoubtedly palpable in every note they play.

With a solid track record in clubs and festivals across Europe —including the Potatoes Blues Festival, Cahors Blues Festival, Caslano Blues Festival, and the Barcelona Blues Festival—, the duo arrives in Arrasate at a particularly sweet moment, presenting their third album, ¡Love Gon' (2026). This is a unique opportunity to enjoy blues in its purest, most intimate, and honest form.
