Drummer Iban Larreboure talks about his musical career and current projects, Zetak and JAC Electric, and expresses his desire to perform at the Arrasate Blues festival.

Iban Larreboure (Urruña, 1983) began taking drum lessons at the age of 11 and currently participates in various bands, including Zetak and JAC Electric. He will soon be performing with the latter at the Arrasate Blues festival.
Larreboure highlighted the experience with Zetak, particularly after the Mitoaroa III show at San Mames. He stated it involved "months of work and the effort of many people," and that experiencing such an event as a musician is "incredible." "Zetak is a team that sets no limits to creation and always strives to move forward," he emphasized.
He joined the project in the summer of 2019, and since then, they have formed a large group. According to Larreboure, the band conveys "a very important message," "about the Basque language, culture, and the identity of the Basque Country."
Furthermore, he described JAC Electric as a "great encounter" with Jaime Alvarez. "From the beginning, a special connection formed between us, both personally and musically," he said. The band's music is rooted in blues rock, and their latest album, Now, released last year, will form the basis of their repertoire.
Larreboure states that he "loves" both projects equally, emphasizing that "the most important thing is to believe in what you do." "I have never done something I didn't truly believe in; I prefer to say no to a project than a half-hearted yes," he declared.
He admitted to having "tremendous enthusiasm" to perform at the Arrasate Blues festival, especially after being unable to play last year due to storms. This year, JAC Electric will perform "in an electric format, as a trio," presenting a repertoire that includes adaptations of blues songs. "Initiatives like this are necessary," he added.
He also highlighted the significance of the EHZ festival, noting that it has been "very present" in his life since his youth and that he has seen "incredible bands" there.
