The musical entity, through its formations OGA, Hots, and Ganbara Txiki, will present the performance 'Atzera begira' this Sunday at 7:00 PM in the San Miguel parish. This event will revisit the most representative works created and performed during its 20-year trajectory, featuring 105 participants.
Throughout its journey, Ganbara Faktoria has commissioned nearly 60 pieces from various Basque composers, significantly contributing to Basque musical creation and fostering the development of new choral repertoire. In this spring concert, dedicated to its members and benefactors, they aim to highlight this musical heritage under the direction of Aitor Biain and with piano accompaniment by Amaia Zipitria.
The first part of the program will be performed by Ganbara Txiki, offering two works: 'Makilakixki' by Josu Elberdin, and 'Tartalo' by Eva Ugalde. Following this, the women's choir Hots will take over, singing 'Etxean eta Errota' by Junkal Guerrero; 'Elementuen kantak' by Ugalde; 'Galera eta oroimena' by Iker González; and 'Ezeren esperoan' by Elberdin.
The final voices on stage will be those of Ganbara Abesbatza, presenting a selection from Iker González's 'Stabat Mater' before performing Elberdin's 'Aldapeko'. As a grand finale, all three formations will jointly perform Eva Ugalde's 'Bizitzaren katedrala', with lyrics by Josu Zubia, which premiered with great success last summer in Arrikrutz.
The association has also announced its future projects. OGA will stage the 'Vox arcana' show in Arrasate, Zumarraga, and Bergara, and will participate alongside artists like Antton Valverde and Gorka Knörr in the commemorative concert for Oskarbi's 60th anniversary at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre. Additionally, Kantu Eskola will premiere the story 'Olentzero eta ipuin magikoa' and the musical 'Move it!'. Meanwhile, Hots will participate in the Habanera and Polyphony Contest in Totana (Murcia) and the 38th International Choral Meeting City of Torrevieja. The Aequus Ensemble orchestra will present 'Lumen et vis' in Oñati and Basauri.
To carry out all these initiatives, Ganbara Faktoria has emphasized the importance of its 'Egin dezagun kultura elkarrekin' campaign, which seeks the support of members and friends. There are two collaboration options: being a 'friend' with an annual fee of 15 euros, and becoming a 'member' with a fee of 50 euros, both offering discounts and benefits. Currently, they have 120 patrons, in addition to the Oñati City Council, the Foral Council, and the Basque Government, who are honorary members.
