Antzuola's festivities commence this Thursday at 12:30 PM with the children's txupinazo and the traditional midnight descent of Hontza, initiating celebrations that will continue until July 19th.

The festivities in Antzuola will kick off on Thursday at 12:30 PM with the txupinazo launched by the children. At midnight, the traditional Hontza descent will take place, officially opening the celebrations that are scheduled to last until July 19th.
In addition to the protocol events, the afternoon will feature the ceremony of imposing handkerchiefs upon the elders and the ten babies born since the 2025 festivities. In the morning, authorities will visit the day center. Following the rocket launch, there will be a children's show and, starting at 1:30 PM, a children's lunch.
From 6:00 PM, the 'cabezudos' (big-heads) and the kajira of Alborada Txistulari Taldea will commence the afternoon's events. An hour later, the mass and salve will be performed, and the 'txosnas' (food and drink stalls) will also open at the same time.
Following this, there will be the pañuelo imposition ceremony accompanied by dancers. At 7:45 PM, approximately ten babies born since the last festival will be welcomed, and handkerchiefs will be placed on them, as well as on the elders, represented this year by Asensio Azkarate and Bittori Lezeta, who receive the honor as they were not protagonists in previous years.
Next, the traditional 'Ikurrin dantza' (flag dance) will be performed by Oinarin, followed by the raising of the local flag and the ikurriña. This year, the honor falls to Toheed Ghulam Kouser, a young man of Pakistani origin raised in Antzuola and residing in London, recognized as the first ambassador of Antzuola and its Basque language. Authorities and residents wish to acknowledge his attitude and affection for the municipality. Afterwards, the soka dantza will take place with the council members.
From 9:30 PM, a 'kantu afari' (singing dinner) will be held with Eingo Taldea in the Plaza, followed by the Hontza descent at midnight. Music will continue with Eingo's kalejira, and from 00:30 AM, a surprise concert will be held at the txosnas, followed by Mj Maripotxo.
On Friday and Saturday nights, night buses will operate, connecting with Bergara, Zumarraga, and Elgeta.
