A young Eibar footballer made his debut last week in the Second Division League match against Albacete, continuing a notable family sporting tradition.

The young player, grandson of a charismatic rower, played his first professional minutes at the Carlos Belmonte stadium during the match against Albacete. He entered the field in the 84th minute, a moment that, despite the 0-3 scoreline already being decided, will be unforgettable for him.
Four years after arriving from CD Getxo, this 21-year-old central defender closes a cycle of progression that includes his time in youth categories, the reserve team, and now the first team. His trajectory has been consistent: he was signed by the club in the 22-23 season as a second-year youth player, spent two seasons in the youth honor division, and another two in Segunda RFEF with the reserve team, where this season he has started 24 matches and scored one goal.
He had already had previous contact with the first team, having played 33 minutes in the Copa del Rey on October 30, 2024, against UD Logroñés. Subsequently, on January 8, he started in the Copa del Rey debut.
The Eibar club has highlighted that the young footballer follows the sporting legacy of his grandfather, who won his first Bandera de La Concha in the 1970s. This Olympic rower in Moscow 1980 accumulated 16 flags in his career, in addition to having been a coxswain for traineras in Orio, Lasarte, Kaiku, Zierbena, and Castro, being an athlete and coach who understood competition from the intensity of rowing.
