Since opening its doors on September 28, 1996, Portalea has become a reference point for citizens, local associations, and Basque creators. Over three decades, the facility has received nearly nine million visits and currently hosts around one hundred professionals in its daily operations.
The main event will be a retrospective exhibition, running from September 18 to October 25, featuring works by over sixty artists who have previously exhibited at the center, showcasing three decades of Basque artistic creation.
The program also includes a lecture series from September 24 to October 6 to reflect on the role of cultural spaces. Additionally, open house days will be held on September 25 and October 2, allowing the public to explore the center's daily functions and services.
