The EAJ-PNV of Eibar has presented a review of its work in the City Council and a set of future proposals, aiming to define its profile within the municipal government. In the distributed document, the jeltzales assert that their entry into the local Executive in November 2024 was a commitment to a city model focused on addressing issues such as housing access, lack of parking, citizen security, and urban cleanliness. They have also established employment, coexistence, the Basque language, and the welfare of the elderly and minors as central pillars of their political action.
The report, published under the slogan «Say and Do», reviews both ongoing actions and projects the party intends to promote in the coming months. Among the issues given highest priority is security. The PNV highlights the launch in 2025 of the Citizen Security Forum, designed to improve coordination between the Municipal Police, the Ertzaintza, and various departments of the City Council. Furthermore, the start of the municipal fiber optic network project and the installation of the first traffic control cameras are planned for 2026, along with security cameras in elevators and municipal buildings.
Mobility and parking also hold a prominent place in the review. The party emphasizes that, following the Legarre car park, the Jardiñeta car park was completed in 2025, and the construction of the Ubitxa car park, adding nearly 150 new spaces, is projected for 2026. The document also expresses the will to seek solutions for the lack of parking in Amaña and its surroundings, with an eye on new spaces in Artegieta, Wenceslao Orbea, and the opening of El Corte Inglés car park to the public.
Regarding transport, EAJ-PNV links its city proposal to an improvement in urban public transport. The report indicates that the drafting of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan is expected to be completed in 2026, and concurrently, work is underway on a plan to strengthen the Udalbus towards Sautxi and industrial estates, as well as a pilot program to intensify service to neighborhoods during weekends. The party summarizes this course of action with one idea: bringing neighborhoods closer to the center of urban life.
One of the projects with the greatest symbolic and urbanistic significance included in the document is the proposal for an intermodal bus station in Estaziño-Matsaria. The jeltzales believe that this area should house a modern and accessible infrastructure, accompanied by a reurbanization of Matsaria, with the aim of strengthening urban mobility and improving the connection of this area with the rest of the city.
The publication also pays attention to the Basque language, culture, and the environment. In the first of these areas, the party announces the launch in 2026 of a new strategic plan for the Basque language, with which it aims to improve Eibar's linguistic landscape and strengthen Basque associations and culture. Regarding the environment, it proposes reinforcing the area with more technical staff and advancing measures such as a tree planting plan, actions linked to the sustainable mobility plan, second-hand fairs and workshops, installation of «rexcatering» machines, plantations, and land acquisition.
The social vision of the report extends to youth, equality, historical memory, health, and active aging. EAJ-PNV proposes actions to cover and renovate playgrounds and calls for greater youth participation in decision-making. It also advocates for the continuity of the Mercedes Kareaga scholarship as a tool to keep local historical memory alive and defends continuing to consolidate Andretxea as a space open to citizens, focused on equality, good treatment, associativism, and women's empowerment.
In the health sector, the party highlights the incorporation of a densitometry machine in 2025 and announces that it will request a mammography machine to expand the range of services at Eibar Hospital. Alongside this, it proposes strengthening policies aimed at the elderly through the figure of a specialized person who will coordinate retirement homes and promote activities related to active aging.
The document also dedicates a section to the situation of neighborhoods, including rural ones, which it considers the «engine of Eibar» and proposes boosting activity and improving services and accessibility there. Added to this is the intention to work on the restoration of the San Andrés church in coordination with other institutions, as a commitment to the conservation of the municipality's historical-cultural heritage. In its final clarifications, work is also mentioned on a solution for the problem of tree roots in Txaltxa Zelai.
