The Basque industrial group Maher Holding has finalized the integration of Geminis Lathes and Mekalerun into Inzu Group. This operation represents «a significant financial and economic strengthening for the group and opens a new phase focused on growth through its brands: Intermaher Mazak and Lagun», as stated in a recent announcement.
The Inzu group, owned by Kutxa Fundazioa, has acquired Geminis Lathes and Mekalerun from the business conglomerate based in Elgoibar. These two companies previously operated within Maher Holding and will now become part of Inzu, separating from their former parent company.
The director of Maher Holding commented that the decision by a group like Inzu to incorporate Geminis Lathes and Merkalerun into its project is «the best validation of a job well done». She added, «The fact that they are doing so while maintaining Basque industrial roots confirms that this is the best possible platform for the company to continue growing».
Geminis Lathes, recognized as a «hidden champion», leads in large-scale horizontal and multi-process turning, with 95% of its production exported to international markets.
Maher Holding itself employs approximately one hundred professionals and generates a turnover of 45 million euros. Following the departure of Geminis Lathes and Mekalerun, the group will focus its efforts on developing its remaining integrated brands.
These brands include Intermaher Mazak, which distributes machine tools across Spain, and Lagun, a manufacturer of milling machines and machining centers, with facilities located in Araba and Gipuzkoa.
