This event, promoted by the Eibar City Council and the Young Eibar Musical Association (AMJE), aims to support and provide visibility to the young musical talent from the Debabarrena region. Seven groups have registered this year and will have the opportunity to present their work live to the public and the jury.
Performances will begin at 7:30 PM on both days. Participating bands must meet certain criteria, including having at least 50% of their members residing in Debabarrena and having released no more than two albums.
“"Izen gabeak shows that in Eibar and Debabarrena we have young people with a lot of talent and a desire to do things."
The contest will award significant prizes. The first prize includes 2,000 euros and 50 hours of studio time, while the second prize offers 1,000 euros and another 50 hours. Additionally, two special prizes of 500 euros each will be given for the best song in Basque and the best Eibar-based group. The winners will be announced during the closing ceremony on Saturday, September 19.
Mayor Jon Iraola highlighted the positive reception of this second edition, and Culture Councilor Andoni Zabala noted that the competition is consolidating as a meeting point for young bands in Debabarrena.
The organizers invite the public to come to Unzaga to support local and regional young musicians and enjoy live music.
