This year, the Rosario Street festival will be held on October 4th, and an event will be revived: calves and ponies will be the main novelty this year.
In the morning, at 11:00 AM, there will be a mass, followed by a sword dance to liven up the street atmosphere. In the afternoon, at 6:00 PM, the main annual novelty will arrive: calves and ponies in Rosario Street.
This novelty responds to the proposal from the Basque Association of Bullfighting Enthusiasts to bring back the small bull spectacle. The City Council has welcomed the initiative and decided to proceed with it, in line with its commitment to collaborate with citizens and stakeholders.
Regarding the event, the City Council informs shops, premises, entrances, and buildings on Rosario Street in advance that they will have the option to protect their windows and shutters. Those wishing to request this service must do so before September 22nd by calling 943 741 050 or writing to arreta@elgoibar.eus. For vacant premises, the City Council itself will contact the owners.
The City Council invites all citizens to participate in the festival and hopes that this event, in addition to reviving a tradition, will be a clear example of what can be achieved when citizens and the administration work together.
