The Elgoibar City Council has introduced the new 'Loratzen' brand, which will consolidate all initiatives aimed at the emotional well-being of adolescents and young people. This brand is not intended to be an isolated service but rather a symbol and guide for the Council's work in this area, serving as a declaration of ongoing and organized commitment to adolescent emotional well-being.
The Loratzen project is the direct outcome of the 'Zurrunbiloa' research and community work conducted in previous years in collaboration with Elhuyar and DanobatGroupe. This study analyzed the emotional well-being status of Elgoibar's adolescents. After presenting the findings to all local stakeholders in May, the Council has been working on the subsequent steps. The Council has examined what follows 'Zurrunbiloa' and developed strategies to address the challenge of adolescent emotional well-being.
Loratzen begins its journey with three new initiatives. The first, offered exclusively by the Council, is Loratzen Aholkularitza Psikologikoa (Loratzen Psychological Counseling), a psychological support service for adolescents and young people. The second initiative, in collaboration with Elhuyar and following the 'Zurrunbiloa' line, will be implemented in partnership with the football club CD Elgoibar, as the study highlighted the link between sports and emotional well-being. The third initiative, also part of 'Zurrunbiloa' and with Elhuyar, will involve offering training sessions aimed at individuals involved in the emotional well-being of adolescents.
Mayor Maialen Gurrutxaga emphasized that Loratzen is the result of a collective effort involving the entire community: “When we conducted the Zurrunbiloa study, we clearly saw that we could not overlook the area of adolescent emotional well-being, and Loratzen represents a commitment to this. Emotional well-being is a community challenge, and the response must also be built by the entire community. The Council takes on its role as a guide and support, but it knows that the involvement of all stakeholders is essential. Therefore, the entire process over the last two years has been built collaboratively from the outset, with various local stakeholders participating alongside Elhuyar and DanobatGroupe. Our role is to make all of this possible, to facilitate the path, and to offer support.”
The Elgoibar City Council will continue to provide updates on Loratzen's development. In the coming weeks, the three programs being launched will be presented individually: detailed information on Loratzen Aholkularitza Psikologikoa, the work done with Elgoibar CD, and specifics about the training. Furthermore, updates will be provided on all steps and initiatives undertaken for the emotional well-being of adolescents and young people, demonstrating the commitment to keep Loratzen alive and continuously growing.
