According to the municipal Equality department, local individuals, agents, and entities can submit their candidacies for the 5th Lila Award until July 17th. Submissions can be made via the link provided at [https://labur.eus/lilasaria2026](https://labur.eus/lilasaria2026) or in person at the ballot box located at the entrance of Aita Agirre kulturgunea.
The City Council reminds that the 'Lila Saria' seeks to highlight efforts made in Elgoibar's social, educational, political, economic, sports, and cultural spheres.
A jury composed of three members from the Lila Table, the mayor, the Equality councilor, and the department's technician will evaluate the candidacies and decide who receives the award.
The award, which includes a trophy and a 500 euro prize, will be presented at a public event on September 17th, during the anniversary week of the Lila Women's House.
In previous editions, the award recognized the Sanlo handball club for its work in women's sports; Itziar Ajuria, the Ikastola's first teacher, posthumously; the women's association Haizea for its influence on local women's lives; and writer Jasone Osoro for her career and pioneering work for feminism in Basque literature and culture.
The Elgoibar Town Hall and the Lila Table encourage citizens, associations, and local entities to submit their candidacies to acknowledge efforts in the fight for gender equality.
