The Eibar City Council and Euskal Trenbide Sarea (ETS) have signed a collaboration agreement for the environmental and landscape integration works of the new Estaziño-Azitain promenade, inaugurated on March 31. The planned actions aim to re-green and condition the surroundings, transforming this new urban space into a more pleasant, sustainable, and accessible promenade for citizens.
The project includes the incorporation of vegetation, shaded areas, and other elements to improve the environmental and landscape quality of the zone. According to the agreement, the Eibar City Council will be responsible for drafting and developing the environmental and landscape integration project for the promenade. In turn, Euskal Trenbide Sarea will manage the contracting, execution, and financing of the planned works.
This signing confirms the agreement previously announced by ETS and the Eibar City Council during the promenade's opening ceremony. Since its opening, the promenade has quickly become a significant recreational area for both the residents of Eibar and visitors arriving from the cycle path between Eibar and Elgoibar. As stated during the inauguration, ETS will handle the entire bidding, contracting, execution, management, and financing of the works, which have a budget of 686,531.07 euros and a five-month execution period.
