The 'Armeros' secured three crucial points against Mirandés thanks to an early goal from Magunazelaia in the second minute. This triumph reaffirms the team's character, as they have now accumulated 16 out of the last 18 possible points away from Ipurua.
The goal came quickly and effectively: a steal in the opponent's half, a quality pass from Bautista, and a precise assist from Adu Ares for Magunazelaia to score the 0-1 with a first-time shot in the heart of the box. From that point, Beñat San José's team focused on what they do best: containing the opponent, enduring moments of pressure, and striking effectively on each transition. Goalkeeper Magunagoitia barely had to make serious interventions, and when he did, he responded with authority. Mirandés tried without success, especially in the second half with long-range shots and attacks down the wings, but they never found a way to beat the 'Armero' goalkeeper.
The results from the rest of the matchday were very favorable for Eibar. Castellón, sixth with 65 points, could only draw 1-1 against Ceuta, dropping two important points. Las Palmas, fifth with 66, suffered a resounding 1-5 defeat against Andorra. Meanwhile, Burgos, who falls to eighth place with 63 units, drew 0-0 with Almería. Eibar was, along with Málaga, the only direct rival to secure all three points, placing them seventh with 64 units, just one point shy of the playoff spots. With three matchdays remaining, the dream of promotion remains very much alive.
With this renewed atmosphere, the team resumes training this week with their sights set on their next fixture: a visit to Reino de León to face Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa, who are at the bottom of the league table. The match will take place this Saturday at 16:15, corresponding to matchday 40 of LaLiga Hypermotion. Eibar needs to win to stay in the playoff fight, while Cultural Leonesa requires a miracle to avoid relegation.
