Given the success of the Monitors course in the past academic year, the town councils of Debabarrena have decided to organize the course again this year. A group has already been formed, and as there is also interest in forming a second group, the town councils are making efforts to complete this second group.
The course will be held in Basque, and participants must be 18 years old by the end of the theoretical part, i.e., by June 30, 2027. Those who complete the course will obtain the official title of “Monitor of Children's and Youth Leisure” homologated by the Basque Government.
The theoretical part of the course will start in October and finish in May, lasting 150 hours. Additionally, three full-weekend excursions will be carried out. Afterwards, 160 hours of practical training must be completed as a volunteer.
The schedule will be: Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM (with a 1 hour and 15 minutes break for lunch), and the three full-weekend excursions, from Saturday 10:00 AM to Sunday 3:00 PM.
The Saturday sessions will be held in two towns in Debabarrena (depending on registration). The course fee is €300, but those registered in Debabarrena will only pay half the tuition, €150.
Registration will be open until September 18th. For more information, you can call 943 744366 or register online.
