Bergara's pelota players won three matches in the first leg of the Interpueblos quarterfinals against Eibar, positioning themselves with strong chances to qualify for the semifinals.

Bergara's pelota players returned home content yesterday after winning three matches in the first leg of the Interpueblos quarterfinals against Eibar. Julen Aranburu, head of BKE's pelota section, stated that although they expected a "difficult" victory in the cadet category, the Bergara pair performed "very well". "Oier Fernandez played with great security, and Inhar Olano caused damage upfront. It's true that the Eibar back player had difficulties due to an injury in his right hand, and from that aspect, we attacked successfully", he explained.
In the youth category, they limited Eibar to four points, and according to Aranburu, they had "chances to win easily". However, he acknowledged that despite the good level of Bergara's youth category players, they haven't achieved significant results in the Interpueblos. "This week's match will be beneficial for them to gain confidence if they advance to the semifinals", he added.
In the senior category, they also anticipated a "very tough" match, but the local pair "showed a good level", and the Eibar players "made many mistakes". "We won all three matches, we have the point difference in our favor. Let's hope next Friday everything goes well and we secure the ticket to the semifinals", stated Aranburu.
If they advance to the semifinals, they would face either Zaldibia or Aduna; Zaldibia currently holds a 2-1 advantage.
