The Arrateko Andra Mari school has won the 2026 Euskararen Baloia competition, which involved nearly 450 students from Eibar, Ermua, and Elgoibar.

This initiative, promoted by the SD Eibar Fundazioa, aims to connect sports, the Basque language, and local identity among the region's youth. Eleven schools participated in this year's edition, with Urkizu Ikastetxea taking second place.
Throughout the season, students visited the Ipurua stadium to learn about the club's history and explore the Euskararen Baloia story, a symbolic narrative that links the club's origins with the promotion of the Basque language.
As a prize, the winners enjoyed a special day in Areitio, where they watched the first team's training session. The jury evaluated the projects based on originality, artistic quality, and the collective effort demonstrated by each school.
