The Eibar City Council is organizing the Eibar Sports Tech Day on October 30th, bringing together institutional representatives, companies, sports agents, and startups to explore the potential of sports technology.

The Eibar City Council, in collaboration with BIC Gipuzkoa, is organizing the Eibar Sports Tech Day on October 30th. This initiative is part of the Sportek Hub project, which connects stakeholders in Gipuzkoa's sports industry to foster technological entrepreneurship and innovation.
The event, held at Tekniker facilities, will gather representatives from public administrations, industrial and technological companies, sports entities, startups, and sector professionals. The aim is to showcase the potential of the Sports Tech industry—the application of technology and innovation to sports—as a driver for economic development, company attraction, and the creation of new business opportunities.
The initiative aligns with Eibar's strategic commitment to connect its industrial tradition and capacity with new economic activity areas, leveraging the opportunities offered by technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation applied to sports. The event is aimed at sports and physical activity professionals, sports clubs and entities, industrial and service companies, firms interested in diversifying into the sports market, and Sports Tech startups.
The day will begin at 9:30 AM with a welcome from the Mayor of Eibar, Jon Iraola. Following this, representatives from the Eibar City Council, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the Basque Government, and BIC Gipuzkoa will participate in a session dedicated to the strategy being developed in Gipuzkoa within the Sports Tech field.
The program will also address key sector trends and future perspectives. Daniel Dümig, co-founder of The Venue Barcelona and The MotherTrees Innovation Ecosystem, will deliver the keynote speech "New technologies, new challenges, new opportunities." Subsequently, a panel discussion will allow for sharing experiences and analyzing new collaboration models between the industrial, technological, and sports sectors, with participation from representatives of Tekniker, SD Eibar, Naw, and Atlhon.
Another central theme will be the role of cities as spaces for sports experimentation and innovation. Sergio Serna, founding partner of Techfriendly, will present "Laboratory Cities: Creating Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystems." Following this, representatives from the city councils of Eibar, Gijón, and Viladecans will share initiatives and experiences related to developing urban environments that foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the Sports Tech field.
The session will also feature presentations of business experiences from Wellk and Trainout, titled "From the Lab to the Field," aiming to demonstrate how innovative solutions can be translated into real-world sports applications.
The event will conclude with a technological visit to Tekniker, where attendees can explore demonstrators and innovative solutions related to sports, health, and well-being. The program will finish with a networking session to facilitate idea exchange and the establishment of new professional relationships.
Through this initiative, the Eibar City Council seeks to strengthen the connection between the industrial fabric, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, the sports sector, and institutions, fostering the identification of joint projects and new diversification opportunities for businesses.
