The City Council of Eibar will relaunch the Physical Activity Guidance Service in early October, as part of the Eibar Mogidu initiative, to foster more active and healthier lifestyles.

This free service is specifically designed for individuals with low levels of physical activity, who can benefit from incorporating exercise into their daily routines. A primary access route involves referrals from Eibar's health centers, including the Ambulatorio and Hospital, enabling healthcare professionals to guide those who could positively impact their health and well-being by increasing their physical activity.
Eibar's Mayor, Jon Iraola, emphasized the importance of continuing to promote policies that facilitate the integration of physical activity into citizens' daily lives. "Promoting a more active city also means promoting a healthier city. We want exercise to be accessible to everyone, regardless of age or physical condition. Eibar Mogidu allows us to support and guide those most in need," he stated.
During the 2026-2027 academic year, the service will maintain its two core programs: Ibilixan, offering healthy walks open to all citizens, and Mugigela, which provides individualized support for those referred to the guidance service.
Ibilixan's healthy walks will continue to take place bi-weekly on Fridays, starting from the Ambulatorio's small square at 10:00 AM. The walks are expected to last approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. The first scheduled dates for the new term are October 9th and 23rd, November 6th and 20th, and December 4th and 18th.
Sports Councilor, Andoni Ameztoy, encouraged residents to participate in Eibar Mogidu's offerings. "Ibilixan demonstrates that physical activity doesn't have to be solely linked to conventional sports. Walking, doing it in company, and making it a habit is also a very important way to care for our health. We want this service to remain a close, accessible, and useful resource for the people of Eibar," he explained.
Ameztoy also highlighted the significance of collaboration between the health and sports sectors. "Coordination with health centers is crucial to reach individuals who can most benefit from increased physical activity. The goal is for each person to find a way to stay active that suits their circumstances and gradually incorporate exercise into their daily lives," he added.
The Physical Activity Guidance Service will be located at the Astelena Fronton Office. This new academic year, the service will be available on Tuesdays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on Fridays from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Interested individuals can obtain more information or contact the service via email at mogidu@eibarkirola.eus or by phone at 688 724 174.
