Striking workers from Tubos Reunidos today, Friday, occupied Amurrio town hall for an hour, protesting the lack of information from the municipal leader regarding a meeting held in Brussels.

The mobilization, as every Friday, began with a demonstration, but this time, instead of ending in the usual square, the workers took over the council chamber. The employees' goal was to speak with municipal officials, but the mayor was not present at the town hall.

"We are angry because last week we had a meeting and they did not inform us about the Brussels gathering. These kinds of appointments are not arranged overnight."

The strikers added that the mayor had mentioned in the media that the conversation with the European Commission had been “fruitful,” but that he had not contacted the workers. Employees complain that the mayor speaks with other people, except them, despite being told that they are “very concerned” about the company's situation.
After occupying the council chamber, they spoke with another member of the municipal government team and agreed to hold a meeting next week. This councilor did not have information about the European Commission.
After an hour of protest, the Tubos Reunidos workers left the Amurrio Town Hall.
