The program kicks off today, Tuesday, at 6:30 PM in Lezeaga Aretoa with a literary encounter centered around the novel "Darle fuego a Bilbao", by feminist writer and journalist Irantzu Varela. The conversation, facilitated by Natalia Álvarez, will address central themes of the work such as desire, friendship, militancy, the city as a political stage, and feminist memory.
On Friday, the City Council will approve the Institutional Declaration on the occasion of the International Day for Sexual Liberation and LGTBIQ+ Pride and will place the Inclusive Pride Flag on the balcony of the town hall. Through this gesture, the Consistory aims to convey its support, recognition, and commitment to the LGTBIQ+ community, as well as to recall the importance of continuing to defend the rights of all people against any form of discrimination.
On the same day, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, an Itinerant Photocall will take place through the streets of Laudio. This activity proposes a visual journey to celebrate the diversity and richness of those who are part of the municipality. Analog photographs will be taken, recovering the magic of craftsmanship, and those who wish can also appear on the City Council's informative LED screens, forming part of a collective mosaic that will showcase Laudio's plurality.
Furthermore, on Saturday the 27th, Aldai square will host the Beldur Barik Point, from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM. This space will offer information, support, and awareness to promote safe festivals free from sexist, machista, and LGTBIQ+phobic violence. The objective is to address potential situations of discrimination and foster an environment based on respect, equality, and freedom.
The Laudio City Council invites citizens to participate in the Laudio Harro 2026 activities and to join a program that claims pride, coexistence, and diversity in public spaces. Likewise, the Consistory reaffirms its commitment to continue working so that all people can live with freedom, dignity, and without fear.
The commercial sector has been among the first to join, dressing 45 shop windows with pride "because we support diversity, we celebrate respect, and we believe in a diverse, free Laudio for all people", underlined the local merchants' association, Apill.
