The ELA union has filed a lawsuit against Tubos Reunidos' Employment Regulation File (ERE) before the High Court of Justice of the Basque Country (TSJPV), requesting that the file be declared null or unlawful.

According to the union, which holds the majority in the company's works council at both the Amurrio (Álava) and Trapagaran (Bizkaia) plants, the company communicated its final decision on the ERE on March 23. However, changes were made on March 27, “after the consultation period had ended and without an agreement with the workers' representatives”.

This modification was made out of time, and meanwhile, the Tubos Reunidos workforce in Amurrio continues on strike and with mobilizations.

ELA states that the workforce rejects the ERE, which affects 240 workers, and demands a solid industrial plan that guarantees the maintenance of the steelworks and logistical activity, in addition to opposing any forced dismissals. Therefore, in its appeal, it requests that the ERE “be declared null or, at least, considered not in accordance with the law”.
