The Dantza Lagunak festival group from Amurrio will celebrate its 60th anniversary this Saturday, April 18, with an extensive program of events that will fill the town's streets with green and white.

The celebration will kick off in Juan Urrutia Square at 12:00 PM with a txupinazo (opening rocket) and an official ceremony. During this event, the group's founding purpose in 1966, which was to promote Basque dances, will be commemorated.
Following the initial ceremony, a musical 'poteo' (bar crawl) with octets will take place, extending until lunchtime at the fronton. The festivities will continue there with games and music, and from 7:00 PM onwards, the streets will once again be filled with dances to the rhythm of the Txaranga Kitadelpare.
This anniversary celebration is linked to other events hosted in Amurrio this week for International Dance Day. On Friday, April 17, at 5:00 PM, the Bañueta sports center will host a master class in Cuban contemporary dance, open to the public, led by internationally renowned professional dancer Denis Martínez Roque.
The program will conclude on Sunday, April 19, at 12:00 PM in Juan Urrutia Square, with a performance organized by the municipal dance school. Its students, along with other local dance groups such as Kuskua and Tiki Tiki taldea, will participate. Saturday's celebration will culminate in Juan Urrutia Square, from 9:00 PM onwards, with a concert by Rockyou Duo and a performance by Dj Pakita Penas.
