The Amurrio City Council has organized the first Vermouth Day for May 24th, aiming to highlight the municipality's significant role in the vermouth culture of Euskal Herria, blending music and gastronomy.

With this initiative, Amurrio seeks to become a "meeting point for lovers of this drink and local gastronomic culture." The event will feature live music, food, and a "festive atmosphere designed for all audiences."
Additionally, there will be an opportunity to taste the seven vermouths produced by the two vermouth companies in the municipality. Participants can also take part in the 1st Marianito Preparation Championship.

"We preserve very old recipes, some dating back to 1883, and we have managed to adapt to current tastes and consumption methods without losing the essence."

One of the vermouth producers recalled that their family business started in Bilbao in 1831 and settled in Amurrio in 1881. Another producer, for their part, emphasized the "emotional and family component" of the project, stating that they represent the fifth generation of their family dedicated to this activity.
