The Amurrio City Council has presented its work on integrating the care perspective transversally into municipal management. This approach goes beyond basic assistance, covering areas such as employment, urban planning, and public procurement. To this end, they have created a framework based on four dimensions: caring for people, the territory, governance, and the economy.
The local administration has developed an evaluation tool to analyze the impact of municipal actions from a gender and care perspective. This instrument facilitates the inclusion of social criteria in public contracts, grants, and fiscal ordinances, adapting management to the real needs of the citizens.
“"It is an opportunity to share the work being done in Amurrio regarding care and, at the same time, to continue learning from other municipal experiences."
During the meeting, the role of the local community network was highlighted, including entities such as the Amurrio Women's Network, the Social Inclusion Board, and the Council for the Elderly. Additionally, the council promotes a training and employment program in the care sector, facilitating the acquisition of professional certificates and the labor insertion of participants.
