After the traditional Easter break, Amurrio Antzokia is ready to raise the curtain again and continue its cultural offerings for April. This month, the program will focus on theater and cinema, with proposals for all audiences, including a family show.
Among the theatrical offerings, on Sunday, April 19, at 12:30 PM, the family musical El origen del hielo by the Onbeat company will be presented. Based on the story of The Snow Queen and the Frozen films, this production advocates for environmental protection values through the story of a girl named Blanca who seeks the origin of ice to save the planet from global warming. Tickets are priced at 18 euros in advance and 22 euros at the box office.
Before that, on Saturday, April 18, at 8:00 PM, the play Llámalo X will be performed, with an admission price of 10 euros. This is the first work directed by Ainhoa Artetxe with the assistance of Graciela Doniz, based on texts and a dramaturgy created by both alongside Lizar Begoña. It explores female desire when it sheds myths and confronts fear. The play features a group of nine LGTBIQ+ friends –interpreted by Nagore Armental, Paula Brezo, Goizane Casado, Lara Hunting, Eva Laorden Madinabeitia, Nahia Martinez Gondra, Meri Moren, Carmen Valero, and Mariñe Zeberio Díez– who aim to unleash certain sex-affective tensions and expectations through an orgy.
The April agenda will conclude on Friday, April 24, at 8:30 PM, with La Comedia de los 80’s y 90’s, featuring Sevillian comedian Quique de La Fuente and the versatile Cadiz comedian Txapela Cádiz. After seven successful seasons with 8 Apellidos andaluces, they embark on a retro, vintage, and nostalgic-comic challenge, showcasing their typical 100% Andalusian humor. Advance tickets cost 16 euros, and at the box office, 19 euros.
Regarding the cinema schedule, it will resume this Sunday with the screening of El último vikingo. This will be followed by Torrente, presidente on April 19 and 20, and Amarga Navidad on April 26 and 27. Additionally, on Thursday, April 16, at 6:00 PM, the Local Council of Seniors will host a new free cineforum centered around the film La cena de los idiotas.
