The Segundo Olaeta Music School has announced preparations for the upcoming academic year, enhancing the 2026-2027 offerings with new options for adults. The September enrollment campaign will run from September 1st to 18th and features two main novelties: the opportunity to take various instrument classes in the morning and the establishment of Rockaldunak, a new pop-rock choir for individuals over 18 years old.
This expansion of hours specifically addresses the needs of those wishing to begin musical studies or resume past studies that were interrupted. The school will provide morning classes in several specialties, facilitating compatibility with other commitments. Specifically, morning classes will be available for cello, brass instruments, violin, guitar, piano, transverse flute, txistu, alboka, and gaita.
Each instrument will have specific schedules throughout the week. For instance, cello and brass instruments will be taught on Mondays, from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM; violin on Fridays, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM; and guitar on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and Thursdays, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Piano and transverse flute classes will be offered on Fridays, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, while txistu, alboka, and gaita classes will take place on Tuesdays, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Furthermore, the Rockaldunak project is a new vocal group joining the music school's offerings. Aimed at individuals over 18, its goal is to reinterpret Basque pop-rock songs from the 1980s to the present day. The group will combine soloists, choir, and band, and will meet on Tuesdays from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
