The municipality of Murueta is currently developing its new General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU) to facilitate future housing developments and infrastructure improvements, addressing the needs of its residents.

The municipality of Murueta is currently working on the elaboration of its new General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU), through which, among other things, new housing developments will be carried out. For this reason, the municipal government has reaffirmed its commitment to the present and future of the municipality, highlighting the work being done by the governing team with facts, responsibility, and a clear roadmap to improve the lives of Murueta residents “in the face of uncertain, biased, and malicious messages”.
The municipal government has stressed that this plan, which will define the future of the locality, is being prepared “with rigor, responsibility, and full compliance with legality,” with the sole objective of responding to the current and future needs of Murueta.
In this regard, the administration has highlighted that the City Council has already activated the incorporation of the Astilleros area into the PGOU, in a process that responds to an ordered and coherent planning aligned with the reality of the municipality. “We are not facing improvised decisions, but rather serious and planned work, developed with technical criteria and within the established deadlines,” they stated.

"Spreading doubts or incorrect information does not contribute to the general interest nor does it help to seriously address a key project for the future of the municipality."

The municipal government of Murueta also clarified that throughout this process, “work has been carried out constantly and responsibly in all its phases, without improvisations and without interests alien to the municipality.” Thus, they have insisted that the PGOU does not respond to external projects, but rather to the need to update obsolete urban planning regulations and adapt the municipality to the current demands of its residents. They also recalled that the objectives of the new planning are clear: to facilitate access to housing, improve facilities, create new public spaces, and modernize municipal infrastructures.
In response to criticisms raised since the beginning of the drafting of the new PGOU, the municipal government has appealed to the responsibility of the opposition group Murueta Independiente Taldea (MIT), pointing out that “spreading doubts or incorrect information does not contribute to the general interest nor does it help to seriously address a key project for the future of the municipality,” because, they add, “Murueta deserves constructive opposition that contributes and is up to the challenges we face.”
The municipal government of Murueta has reiterated its commitment to continue working with transparency, rigor, and closeness, inviting citizens to participate in this common project. “We want a modern, sustainable Murueta with opportunities for everyone, and we are working towards that”.
