The Gernika-Lumo City Council has completed the planned asphalt paving works in several areas of the municipality, aiming to renovate the road surface and improve traffic conditions and safety for both vehicles and pedestrians.

The works were carried out on the elevated walkway at the exit of the Arane, Agirregane, and Allende schools, and on Kortezubi street, specifically in the section from the roundabout to the Gernika hospital. Additionally, new pavement has been laid in several sections of Txorroburu, Lorategieta, and Carlos Gangoiti streets.
This project required an investment of 272,600 euros and is part of the City Council's plan to maintain the municipal road network. The interventions focused particularly on areas showing the most wear due to the passage of time, daily traffic, and weather conditions.
This pavement renewal extends the useful life of the street surface and facilitates mobility within the town. In this way, the City Council continues the asphalt paving campaigns developed in previous years, ensuring the progressive maintenance of the road network.
With the complete finalization of the works, the City Council considers this new phase of pavement improvement concluded, with a particular focus on the points that required prompt intervention.
