The Gernika-Lumo Cultural Center has started a series of activities aimed at bringing books closer to citizens during the holiday season. The initiative seeks to improve access to culture and provide leisure alternatives throughout the town's neighborhoods.
The project consists of two main proposals: the Letters House, a mobile library touring different neighborhoods, and the Open-Air Library, located under the arches of the Cultural Center in the Plaza de los Fueros, which will remain open until mid-September.
The mobile service provides newspapers, magazines, and board games from Monday to Friday, with morning and afternoon hours. After its stay in Santa Lucía, the library will move to San Juan Ibarra and conclude its route in Lorategieta in late August.
The program also includes storytelling sessions for children and families at the library's stops. Additionally, the Libuterraza, located on the first floor of the Cultural Center, will remain open throughout the summer as a quiet space for reading.
