The Basque Parliament held its Control Session today, September 25, 2026, addressing a packed agenda of significant issues for the autonomous community, including the state of the education system, economic data, and language policies.
In the educational sphere, several parliamentarians questioned the Department of Health and the Basque Government regarding measures to improve results, educational policy, and what they described as an "educational failure." Questions were also raised about the results of the PISA report and the Basque Government's pedagogical policies.
In economic matters, the Minister of Economy, Labor, and Employment was asked about the latest Basque economy data. Additionally, the Department of Industry, Energy Transition, and Sustainability was consulted regarding allegations on a draft royal decree for data centers, and a bill concerning the protection and regulation of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve was discussed.
