The Bermeo team failed to seize a clear chance this weekend to confront the leaders of their Honor Division group. The 'txos' delivered one of their poorest performances of the season against Iturrigorri, a weak opponent at the bottom of the standings and virtually relegated.
Despite having almost everything in their favor, the team from the fishing village could not create danger in the visitors' area at Itxas Gane. The visiting team, for their part, focused on holding the score, which ended in a goalless draw (0-0). The shared points did little for the Busturialdea team, who now have 49 points, while Sodupe is one step above with 51.
“"It was a shame, because with all due respect, it was an opponent we could have beaten to take a step forward towards finishing as high as possible and having options to enter the Copa draw."
The Bermeo team will visit the bottom-placed team next Saturday at five in the afternoon. Club sources state that, “although almost everything has been said, we will go all out, turn the page from the last match, and offer our best version.”
Just below Bermeo, in fifth position, is Aurrera de Ondarroa, who also had a difficult weekend. The team returned from their trip to Sodupe with a resounding 2-0 defeat.
The Lea Artibai team could not stop the hosts' attacks, who, along with Somorrostro and Erandio, have become the most combative teams in the group.
Next Saturday, at five in the afternoon, the 'rojillos' will host Abanto. Although both teams are in a comfortable mid-table position, “we will go out to win, giving our all, to close out a very positive season in the best possible way, without the classification problems we experienced last campaign,” according to club sources.
