Durango's Landako Gunea became the hub for the Oihu bat Palestinara festival on March 21st, blending music and protest to express solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Durango's Landako Gunea was packed on March 21st for the Oihu bat Palestinara festival. The primary goal of this event was to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and raise funds to support those penalized in protests against the genocide. The festival offered an extensive program, including 26 concerts, monologues, and bertsolaris, all within an atmosphere of protest and music.
Attendees, after gathering at 1:00 PM in the Iurreta car park, headed to Landako Gunea, where they could hear Eire's electronic pop from outside while managing their tickets. The interior of the venue was adorned with the colors of the Palestinian flag (red, green, white, and black), and numerous banners advocating for Palestinian resistance and the dissolution of Israel.
Throughout the afternoon, there were performances by various groups and artists, such as Hofe and Kiliki, Ibil Bedi, and Anari. The atmosphere was warm, both physically and emotionally, and the concert by the group Gailu was one of the day's highlights. The band, with Hodei Esteban (Occhi di Farfalla, Galder, Estricalla) performing their album Bizi eta ixo!! (2025) live, began their set with chants of “Boycott Israel, Free Palestine”.
The trio Gailu, led by vocalist Okene, demonstrated their ability to create a “danceable discomfort” with songs like Kalez Kale and Bizi eta Ixo!!. Towards the end of the concert, Mursego and Anari joined them on stage to perform the song Alfabeto Zauritu bat. The event concluded as it began, with protests in favor of Palestine, emphasizing the message that “resistance is also a weapon of mass destruction”.
