According to a press release from the Bermeo City Council, the deadline for proposing candidates for the XXIX Hegaluze Award has been extended until April 19. This award will be presented during Bermeo's XXXII Fish Fair, and the Arrain Azoka Association will select the winner after the nomination period closes.
The purpose of the Hegaluze Award is to recognize an individual, institution, association, entity, company, or project that has contributed to promoting and enhancing Bermeo's name or has worked for the benefit of the town. Proposals can include actions from various fields such as sports, business, culture, society, or economy.
Those wishing to propose candidates must write down the chosen person's details and the reasons for their selection on a sheet of paper. Proposals can be submitted in two ways: directly at the Bermeo City Council Tourism Office or by sending an email to turismoa@bermeo.eus. If multiple proposals are received for the same candidate, they will be treated as a single nomination.
The final day for submitting proposals is April 19. The XXIX Hegaluze Award, as is customary each year, will be presented on May 22, during the inauguration ceremony of the Fish Fair.
