The Rural Kutxa Championship has launched its first edition, following its presentation in Donostia, with the goal of promoting aizkora competition in both women's and youth categories, filling a previous void.

Organized by the Zertzena club of Astigarraga, this tournament seeks to fill the gap created after the disappearance of championships previously organized by Egur Sport. In total, four pairs will participate in the women's category, while the youth tournament will bring together nine pairs of aizkolaris aged between 16 and 23.
The competition began on April 6 in Agurain, and the second day will take place tomorrow, April 18, in Doneztebe at 6:00 PM. It will continue on April 26 in Etxarri Aranatz. The semifinals are scheduled for May 2 and May 17 in Altsasu and Urnieta, respectively, with the grand final set for May 31 in Astigarraga.
The second day, to be held in Doneztebe's Santa Lucía square starting at 12:30 PM, will feature Malen Barrenetxea-Nerea Arruti and Oihana Fernández de Barrena-Ekiñe López in the women's category. In the youth tournament, named Izar Berriak, the pairs Beñat Senosiain-Markel Iturralde, Mikel Santesteban-Igoin Pikabea, and Unai Etxeberria-Unai Romairone will compete. Additionally, harrijasotzailes Miren Martín and Irati Osinalde will also perform.
