Nearly a thousand people participated today, on the eve of Museum Day, in the 'Museos de Bizkaia. Visítalos, visítate' (Visit Bizkaia's Museums. Visit yourself) initiative, promoted by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia in Abandoibarra, alongside a broad representation of the territory's museums.

As highlighted by the provincial institution, public participation was constant throughout the day, with hundreds of people approaching the installed space to engage in an interactive game about Bizkaia's more than 40 museums.

The proposal generated "notable interest among people of all ages, who were able to test their knowledge, discover new museum spaces, and approach the territory's cultural diversity in a playful and participatory way," the provincial institution remarked.

This event allowed participants to learn about and rediscover Bizkaia's extensive and varied museum offerings, "reinforcing the role of museums as living, accessible spaces connected with citizens," the Provincial Council emphasized.

The international theme for this year, 'Museums uniting a divided world,' aligns with Bizkaia's focus, highlighting the role of museums as spaces for meeting, reflection, and social connection.

During the event, participants who answered questions correctly on the interactive panel were entered into a raffle for a museum weekend getaway in Bizkaia for two, including museum visits, a gastronomic experience, and an overnight stay.

The celebration of International Museum Day will continue in the coming days with a special program including open house days, free access, workshops, and guided tours.
