As part of the new program, on April 18, La Encartada Fabrika-Museoa in Balmaseda will host the immersive theatrical proposal ¿Verdad o mentira?. This show will plunge spectators into a narrative woven through the history of the factory, which is over a hundred years old, set against the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War of 1937.
The performance, directed by Marta Urcelay and Braulio Cortés, will feature actors Gurutze Beitia, Itziar Lazcano, Leire Orbe, Josu Angulo, and Alfonso Díez. Starting from a blanket made in the factory itself, attendees will have to unravel a mystery built with half-truths and fragmented memories, moving in groups through different corners of the museum.
Will the audience be able to discern what is truth and what is lies?
Furthermore, on May 9, Muñatones Castle in Muskiz will host the feminist bertso session Ez da kasualitatea, at 7:00 PM. This show originated at the request of an equality technician, bringing together several female bertsolaris, moderators, and musicians. Since then, it has become a benchmark performance in the squares of Euskal Herria.
Ez da kasualitatea is an improvised musical performance where bertsolaris create verses accompanied by guitar, violin, and saxophone, based on themes proposed by the moderator. It is a show in Euskera that combines humor, playfulness, reflection, and complicity among the performers, music, and bertsos. Reservations for attendance will open from April 9.
The MusEkintza program transforms Bizkaia's museums and historical enclaves into unique stages, combining theater, dance, music, humor, and immersive experiences. This artistic journey includes, among others, Santimamiñe (Kortezubi), the Fishermen's Museum (Bermeo), the Euskal Herria Museum (Gernika-Lumo), El Pobal Ironworks (Muskiz), and the Archaeological Museum (Bilbao).
