Cyclist Mikel Landa of Soudal Quick Step will not participate in the third stage of the Itzulia, which starts and finishes in Basauri, due to a crash he suffered on Tuesday during the descent of San Miguel de Aralar.

Although radiological tests performed yesterday on the rider from Murguía revealed no fractures, the team has announced that withdrawing from the race is the best decision for his recovery.

Following an incident on Tuesday during stage two of the Itzulia Basque Country, Mikel Landa was transferred to the hospital for examination.

The Soudal team's statement detailed that the results showed no fractures or permanent damage, allowing Mikel to rest peacefully. However, it has been decided that he should withdraw from the race to allow his body to fully recover.
Despite the accident, Landa managed to reach the finish line in 67th place, more than 13 minutes behind the winner and leader, French cyclist Paul Seixas.
