The Bizkaia Foral Council will present the investment opportunities offered by the territory in Madrid next Tuesday, led by General Deputy Elixabete Etxanobe. The event will gather institutional, business, financial, and economic representatives in the Spanish capital to outline the advantages for investment in the industrial, technological, and energy sectors.
The event will be inaugurated by Etxanobe herself, accompanied by the president of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi; the executive president of Telefónica, Borja Ochoa; the CEO of Iberdrola, Mario Ruiz-Tagle; the president of Petronor, Emilio López Atxurra; and the country manager of BBVA España, Peio Balausteguigoitia. Completing the provincial delegation will be the Deputy for Economic Promotion, Ainara Basurko, and the Deputy for Treasury and Finance, Itxaso Berrojalbiz.
Aimed at strengthening the capacity to attract economic activity, talent, and investment in high value-added sectors, the event will take place next Tuesday, June 16, starting at 09:00 AM at the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM). Sources from the Council have reported that the meeting "will project Bizkaia as a benchmark territory for investment and will showcase to companies, financial entities, and investors the competitive strengths that have consolidated a dynamic, innovative business ecosystem with a marked industrial vocation".
Throughout the morning, topics such as business competitiveness, innovation, talent, energy, digitalization, financing, and the role of taxation as a lever for driving new investments and business projects will be addressed.
Ainara Basurko will moderate the first panel discussion, which will analyze the role of Bizkaia's industrial, energy, and technological ecosystem in attracting business projects. Participants will include Mario Ruiz-Tagle from Telefónica and Borja Ochoa from BBVA, who will share their insights on the factors that promote business competitiveness and innovation in the territory.
The second panel will be led by Itxaso Berrojalbiz and will address taxation, financing, and investment, alongside the president of Petronor, Emiliano López Atxurra, and the country manager of BBVA España, Peio Belausteguigoitia. The three will analyze the role of collaboration between institutions and companies in driving competitiveness, innovation, and the energy transition.
