The Bizkaia Provincial Council has ruled out that the death occurring last Tuesday at a residential facility was linked to high temperatures. Although the possibility was initially considered, medical reports have since dismissed it.
The institution stated that the resident suffered from multiple pre-existing conditions. The individual felt unwell with a fever during the morning, and their condition deteriorated throughout the day, leading to the activation of medical services.
The council emphasized that the family was kept informed throughout the process. Across Euskadi, Osakidetza emergency services treated 44 people due to the heat, with 30 cases in Bizkaia and 14 in Gipuzkoa.
