Basurto Hospital experienced a moment of calm this Friday thanks to the 'Fun Farre' project by the BOS (Bilbao Symphony Orchestra) and Iberdrola, which brings music to various centers in Bizkaia.

The hospital, with its striking architecture, hosted a temporary tent where professional musicians dressed in black provided sonic shelter to patients and healthcare staff.
Led by conductor Alain Sancho, the ensemble of over ten musicians performed various pieces, including Aita Donostia's 'Basque Preludes', Bach's 'Little Fugue', an adaptation by Jean Sibelius, Igor Stravinsky's 'Symphony for Wind Instruments', and a piece by George Gershwin with jazz influences.
The repertoire showcased the versatility of classical music, transforming the hospital into a true musical oasis for a few minutes, creating a space for encounter and calm.
This initiative, demonstrating the transformative power of culture beyond conventional stages, offered a respite in the daily healthcare routine for those who live with illness and recovery every day.
So far, the 'Fun Farre' project has visited the Santa y Real Casa de Misericordia de Bilbao, Aita Menni Hospital, and Basurto University Hospital. Its final stop will be next Tuesday, June 16th, at Cruces University Hospital.
