Despite overcast skies and occasional drizzle, sea conditions along Bizkaia's coast are generally good. Out of the 23 beaches in the Historical Territory, 17 are flying green flags, permitting free swimming. Specifically, Ereaga, Arrigunaga, Gorrondatxe, Muriola, Plentzia, Gorliz, Armintza, Aritzatxu, Laidatxu, San Antonio, Laida, Laga, Ea, Ogella, Isuntza, Karraspio, and Arrigorri beaches report very good sea conditions, allowing for refreshing dips.
While five beaches were on alert for Portuguese man o' war on Saturday, today only La Arena beach, shared by Muskiz and Zierbena, displays a yellow flag, accompanied by a white flag warning of jellyfish presence. Additionally, Las Arenas, Barinatxe, Arriatera-Atxabiribil, and Bakio also have yellow flags due to moderate surf.
The sole beach in Bizkaia where swimming is strictly prohibited is Toña, located in Sukarrieta, due to poor water quality.
