The City Council of Barakaldo celebrates the 20th anniversary of the HitzBatu project, an initiative that has fostered creativity and collaboration among local students for two decades.

Since its inception, HitzBatu has become a benchmark in Barakaldo's schools. Over the past twenty years, 11,224 students have taken part in the program, creating 545 original stories collectively, accompanied by their own illustrations.
The results of this work are compiled annually in a publication. Over the last two decades, more than 13,000 copies have been published and distributed, becoming part of the municipal library collections for public access.

"The 2025 edition sets a new milestone in the program's history. The book published this year includes 42 stories, the highest number to date, reflecting the excellent state of the project."
