Osakidetza's Emergency Service reported that by 7:00 PM this Saturday, a total of 33 people had been attended to in Euskadi due to the heatwave, with no serious cases.
Of these cases, five were treated 'in situ', while the remaining 28 were transferred by ambulance to a hospital or health center for monitoring. The ages of those attended ranged from 2 to 96 years old.
By territory, 16 people were attended to in Gipuzkoa, 15 in Bizkaia, and two in Araba.
To protect our health, always follow the recommendations of the Heat Plan.
The Department of Health of the Basque Government emphasized the importance of following the recommendations of the Heat Plan 2026 to prevent and reduce the impact of excessive temperatures on public health during the hottest months, with particular attention to vulnerable groups: children under 4, the elderly, pregnant women, individuals with chronic illnesses, and those engaging in outdoor physical activity.
It is also recommended to frequently contact elderly people living alone and to never leave anyone inside a parked and closed vehicle, especially during the central hours of the day.
