The latter part of Easter Week in Bizkaia defied rainy predictions, bringing sunny days and high temperatures that drew crowds to beaches and terraces across the region.

The initial weather forecast for Bizkaia during Easter Week anticipated predominantly rainy and cloudy conditions. However, these predictions did not materialize during the second half of the holidays, with unusually high temperatures recorded, particularly on Saturday and Easter Monday.
Since Holy Thursday, Bizkaia has registered abnormally high temperatures. The highest temperature of the day in both Euskadi and the State was recorded on Monday in Amoroto, reaching 32 degrees Celsius. In Bilbao, temperatures exceeded 29 degrees, according to measurements taken in Zorroza, similar to Donostia, while Gasteiz saw temperatures of 24 degrees.
Bizkaia's beaches were packed, reflecting a strong desire for sun after a wet winter and early spring. Although meteorologists had predicted a rainy Easter Week, which deterred many tourists from visiting Bizkaia, the forecasts proved incorrect. From Holy Thursday until yesterday, there was no rain in the territory, and the sun shone brightly all day. This allowed those who chose not to leave the region to enjoy outdoor activities during these days.
In addition to the beaches, terraces in Bilbao and various other towns in Bizkaia were bustling with both locals and visitors. The outdoor Basque Fest festival also attracted numerous people with its diverse activities.
There was also time for other cultural plans in venues such as the Guggenheim Museum and the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, whose exhibition offerings were enjoyed by a large audience.
According to forecasts for the coming days, good weather is expected to remain stable until at least Friday, though it could change for the weekend, with temperatures dropping by up to 10 degrees and the possibility of rain. The front will enter through Galicia and is associated with the powerful storm Amy, recently named by the Met Office.
