The driver from Balmaseda presented the Euskal Selekzioa monoposto this morning at the Bilbao Foral Palace, with the goal of revalidating his European Hill Climb Championship title, which begins on April 25 in Austria.

The driver from Balmaseda unveiled the Euskal Selekzioa monoposto this morning at the Bilbao Foral Palace, with which he aims to revalidate his 2023 European Hill Climb Championship title. Last year, the driver finished third in the championship, securing a podium finish in 7 out of 11 races, despite having fewer resources than his competitors.
For this new season, the Nova NP-01 monoposto features significant upgrades, including new electronics and the mandatory halo for driver safety. Additionally, the team will now use a motorhome truck, which will enhance logistics and mechanical work, replacing the previous van and trailer setup for traveling across Europe.

"In recent years, very good drivers with large budgets have joined the championship. However, qualifying in the top 3 again would be a satisfactory result."

The driver expressed gratitude for the support from organizations such as Euskal Kirol Federazioen Batasuna (EKFB), the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, the Bilbao City Council, Petronor, Grupo Instxausti, the Balmaseda City Council, Hurbizcons, and the Basque Automobile Federation. He emphasized that their unconditional assistance is vital for continuing to compete and improve year after year.
The driver boasts a successful career in hill climb racing. In 2023, he became the European champion, reaching the podium in all 10 races, with 5 victories, 3 second-place finishes, and one third. He is also the Spanish champion in this discipline and placed fifth in the 2021 World Hill Climb Championship in Portugal. Over his nearly 13-year career, he has won more than 100 races.
