On May 26th, the Xenpelar Etxea in Errenteria will host a clown workshop led by the acclaimed May Gorostiaga, aiming to explore the essence of this art form beyond simple comedy.

Being a clown «goes far beyond» just being a jester, assures Lourde Amiano, a member of the group 'Les Underklowns'. The collective is organizing a workshop on May 26th at 7:30 PM in the Xenpelar Etxea, which will feature the guidance of May Gorostiaga, a highly respected figure in the clowning world.
Amiano emphasizes that clowning is a way to connect with oneself and one's inner essence, and that in this art, failure can be a path to success by eliciting laughter from the audience. «We have to turn around the way we do things», she notes, referring to the ego's tendency to constantly seek triumph.
Clowning can also address «very profound» themes, as demonstrated by some group members in a performance in Hondarribi. It depicted four different realities of women, including early retirement, beauty tricks, job precarity, and integration. One spectator confessed to being moved by the realization that any topic could be discussed through clowning and humor.
Amiano encourages the residents of Errenteria to participate in this workshop, promising a «pleasant surprise» for those unfamiliar with the art form. Additionally, future activities are announced with Caroline Dream on May 30th and 31st, with further sessions on June 6th and 7th.
The group 'Les Underklowns' has expressed gratitude to the Oiarso Neighborhood Association and the Errenteria City Council for providing the Xenpelar Etxea space for these workshops.
