The Basque Government and the BBK Foundation have renewed their agreement for the Urdaibai Environmental Education Project in Sukarrieta, continuing to provide educational stays for students from Bizkaia.

The Basque Government and the BBK Foundation have extended their collaboration at the Sukarrieta center. This three-year agreement ensures the continuity of a project that has been promoting direct contact with nature for students in Bizkaia since 1982.
The program targets students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades of Primary Education, as well as 1st and 2nd years of Secondary Education. During four-day stays, participants explore biodiversity and sustainability through observation and experimentation within the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve.
Beyond academic learning, the project emphasizes values such as coexistence, responsibility, and cooperation. The natural setting encourages the use of the Basque language in real-life communication scenarios, fostering active participation and personal development outside the traditional classroom.
